Designing for a different market

Russian people like really bold typography. Well, at least that's what I concluded after spending a good time in Russian websites and talking to people from there. I also found a surprising rejection to dark backgrounds or really dark images. In general, really bright, plain colours seemed to work for them.

I often think how many designers do actually research their users/clients background. Often what you see, especially in online design, is just copies of the current style, just like using textures of old paper in everything we do just because having a vintage looking website/design is fashionable at the moment.

Anyway, going back to the Russian buttons, I did spent quite a lot of time just playing with the idea of a web-button that would especially work for the Russian market. Below are some of the things I did.

I used to be more interested in fahion design and photography. Too busy these days to spend time sewing and taking photos and making phisical things... but should definitely find the time.

Invoices

It is sometimes difficult to get ideas when you start a new project, especially when you're designing something like an invoice for a very corporate company. Still, I had some fun doing this invoice below. Hope you like it!
